Basic Preparation Course

Parish nurse education is based on theory, practice and research.  It includes theological concepts while reclaiming the spiritual dimension of nursing.  This course is designed specifically for those nurses who are already working in their congregation or plan to do so in the future. 

The week long intensive course was developed by the International Parish Nurse Resource Center and is the only one offered in Kansas.  It is usually offered 1-2 times a year in Wichita at the Spiritual Life Center.  The cost of the course covers lodging, 3 meals a day, all books and materials, parish nurse pin, nurse education hours, and a dedication ceremony followed by lunch for family and friends.
